Welcome to Fitz's Delmar, a quintessential American restaurant nestled in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri. Located at 6605 Delmar Blvd, Fitz's offers not just a meal but an experience that brings families and friends together. As a food reviewer, I've come to appreciate the unique charm and delightful flavors that Fitz's Delmar has to offer.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a lively atmosphere that perfectly combines nostalgia with contemporary dining. Judging by the enthusiastic reviews, diners often reminisce about their visits, making it clear that Fitz's has left a lasting impression over the years. The inviting interior features views of the on-site bottling plant, adding a unique visual element to your dining experience. This setting resonates especially well with families, as noted by Carol Copeland, who describes it as a fun place for outings with loved ones.
One of the standout features of Fitz's Delmar is its famous bottomless root beer served in frosted mugs. Tony Williams celebrated this refreshing beverage, relishing the opportunity for unlimited refills. The dedication to quality extends beyond beverages; the burgers are crafted to order and the portions are generously sized. Gluten-free options are thoughtfully provided, ensuring that everyone can find something delectable to enjoy.
But let’s not forget the iconic floats that have become synonymous with Fitz's. Diners rave about the extravagant combinations of craft sodas and ice creams, as highlighted by Bethany T., who sampled the strawberry float. The sheer size of these creations often makes them ideal for sharing, yet their flavor profiles encourage you to savor them solo. It’s a delightful fusion that avoids overwhelming sweetness, allowing the bubbly texture of the soda to complement the creaminess of the ice cream seamlessly.
The exceptional service at Fitz's is also worth mentioning. Reviewers like John Hartmann have applauded staff members for their attentiveness and friendliness, contributing to the overall welcoming vibe of the establishment. Such commendations are a testament to Fitz's commitment to creating unforgettable dining experiences.
In essence, Fitz's Delmar is a celebration of American comfort food, craft beverages, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Whether you are indulging in a hearty meal, reveling in the delicious floats, or enjoying a classic root beer, Fitz's promises an experience that makes you feel at home. With reasonable prices and a warm environment, it's a must-visit for anyone in the St. Louis area looking to create cherished memories over good food and great company.

I used to go to Fitz's all of the time when I was younger, and it was always great! We went there for dinner tonight for the first time in years. The food and service was excellent! I love the atmosphere and the prices are reasonable.
First time here. Fun place for a family outing. Enjoyed the bottomless mugs of rootbeer. Disappointed that my Steak and Blue Salad had virtually no blue cheese. I would say more like zero. Portions of entrees are huge. You could share a meal. Most of all are the iconic floats! You can't miss those!
The food was good. Portions are big. They have gluten-free buns for burgers and bake the gf fries separately (although my wife said the regular fries were better). Of course the main draw is the root beer. Many different options so likely can't go wrong. They also have several amazing super floats. It was my son's birthday, so he got the Birthday Cake one. The location is great with views of the bottling plant inside and the walk of fame stars outside. But what put this visit over the top was the service we received from Eddie. If they have a better employee, this place is blessed. He was excellent in every way. Personable, attentive and helpful. He went over and above anything expected.
Excellent experience!! The Root Beer in the frosted mug is amazing; glad for bottomless refills (I had 4!!) Burgers were great, cooked to order and fries were fresh. Busy Friday afternoon but only had a 20 minute wait.
We stopped just to try out their famous floats! This is a craft soda micro-brewery. Ordered the strawberry float with strawberry soda and strawberry ice cream on top. The floats are MASSIVE so you can definitely share between two people easily. The float was super tasty and surprisingly wasn't a sugar overload or anything. Maybe its the fizziness of the soda that helps balance it out or something. We sat at the counter area and got to watch the staff craft the different floats and it was so cool to see the different combinations come together. Highly recommend!
Went on a Thursday afternoon when they weren't busy (I hate crowds) This place is incredible! The building is very neat, the selection is enormous and so are the floats Food is delicious. We had Ashley as our server and couldn't have been treated better. She is knowledgeable, personable and knows all the ways to make your visit a special one. 5 stars.......... Highly recommend
Wow, this place is amazing. The food is SO good. I had the *BEST* spinach artichoke dip ever here! Their bottle burger is phenomenal and wow, that “kitchen sauce” is amazing. The chicken parmesan sandwich was very good, but not something I’d get again. My son loved the root beer float. I loved the bottled root beer! The food here was so good we came two days in a row! The first waitress we had was really good, but the second waitress didn’t seem to understand what we were saying and wasn’t very attentive and forgot to bring ranch, didn’t refill drinks, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this place and want to drive 5.5 hours back to St Louis just to eat here again!!
Atmosphere was Awesome! We just had 2 and we only had to wait about 10mins. We went right about 1pm. I ordered the rootbeer & my husband ordered the cream soda, they came in frosted mugs... very cold and very tasty! Our server was Emma, very kind and kept our drinks full! Will definitely go back!
